Magic Kingdom's Villain's After Hours

We took a walk on the vile side and partied with Disney's most nefarious fiends! You can too on select nights from February 7 through July 10, 2020! (Or once the parks reopen!)

First things first, you have to get the PERFECT villainous outfit! What villain would you dress up as? It was cold when we went, so I had a sweater over my outfit most of the time. But I still had the perfect ears from Castle Bound Supply Co., and glitter from Uniglitter (use code TWOPINEAPPLES for $$ off).

The parties start at 10PM and last until 1AM on the select nights. For a list of the nights, click here. But you can get into the party starting at 7PM, just in time to watch Happily Ever After!

So..... what did we do first? We went to get our Oogie Boogie Light Up Sipper! This limited edition sipper is only available during the party. He is just so cute and we just had to have him!

Afterwards, we decided to ride some of the rides that featured ride overlays. The wait for anything wasn't longer than 10 minutes. Number one on our list was Space Mountain. They make it pitch black, and play high energy music. Then we went to Pirates of the Carribbean, which had live actors portrayed throughout the ride. This was no different than what they do at the Halloween parties in the fall. We also rode Buzz Lightyear and the People Mover, before we moved on to snacks.

Included with the price of your ticket, is a free popcorn, ice cream and bottled sodas. However, they have special villain-themed snacks for extra cost. While we didnt try all of them, we tried quite a few.

The first villain-themed snack we tried was Painting the Roses Red. This is a cheesecake mousse with a raspberry gel center, topped with red cocoa butter and buttercream leaves. We thought it was overall pretty good. The cheesecake mousse was flavorful but light, and the raspberry center wasn't overpowering. This treat is available at Cheshire Cafe, along with the Royal Majesty (strawberry flavored cake pop dipped in red chocolate and coated with sprinkles), and Hearts on Fire drink (fruit punch, coke, and strawberry popping candy, garnished with a heart shape strawberry).

Next, we decided to head towards Fantasyland to have a go at the Ursula themed treats. Here, we decided to try the Body Language. This cake features cookies and creme mousse, with a gelly-like topper, featuring meringue tentacles, and a chocolate shell. We definitely preferred this one over the Painting the Roses Red. The cookies and creme was super flavorful. The only downside? The gelly-like topper is black, and dyes your mouth completely black, making it look like you just ate a big bag of charcoal. LUCKILY, free bottled soda washed away the black on our teeth, and just left a little on our tongue. This treat is available at Storybook Treats, along with the Poor Unfortunate Soul drink (black raspberry soft-serve over cherry coke, garnished with a mini replica of Ursula's crown made of sugar!). We would have tried this, but I'm not a fan of coke, and Sean said it was too cold out to eat it by himself.

The last thing exclusive snack we tried before leaving was the Just Take Three. A nod to Dr. Facilier, this snack features three beignets dusted with powdered sugar, served with vanilla ice cream, topped with whipped cream and chocolate ganache. This was our favorite snack of the night, and I'm so glad we saved it for last, orrrrrr I would have ate my weight in them. It was the right combination of warm beignets with cold ice cream. While waiting in line, you can watch them make the beignets fresh, plus the smell is heavenly. This was available at Sleepy Hollow, along with Voodoo Magic drink (lemonade, green apple syrup garnished with a rock candy straw).

They had lots of other villainous options too, with nods to Gaston, Hades and even Jafar. We really wanted to try the Gaston one. It was a custard milkshake, but again, it was 40 something degrees the night we went, and we were too cold. (Floridians, eh?)

Just after finishing the beignets, we headed for the castle to watch the Villains Unite the Night, featuring Hades, Meg, The Evil Queen, Maleficent, Jafar, and Dr. Facilier. See some pictures of the show below:

Finally, the last thing we did before the sinister soiree was over, was grab the perfect spot on Main Street, U.S.A., to watch the Villain's Cursed Caravan.

Have you been to the Villains Soiree? Are you hoping to go? What will you do first?
